はじめに

このドキュメントでは FMC Virtual(以降 FMCv) Software version 6.4 から 6.6 へ upgradeを実施した際に発生した事例についてご紹介します。
*本ドキュメントでは FMCv version 6.4.0.8, memory 8GB on ESXi にて動作を確認しています。

事象

FMCv を Software Version 6.6 への upgradeを実施した際に、下記のようなエラーメッセージが出力されて upgrade に失敗することがあります。

[ERROR] Fatal error: The FMC is currently allocated 8GB of RAM. Additional memory is required to support this release. Increase your allocation and try again. For guidelines, see the release notes or the FMCv getting started guide.

本事象は上記メッセージに記載のある通り、FMCv version 6.6 へ upgrade するために必要なメモリが不足しているため出力されます。これは FMCv 6.6 から Memory 必要条件が最低28GBとなっているためです。
　

本事象は不具合 "CSCvr67542 vFMC 6.6.0 requires at least 28GB for upgrade." としても報告されております。

Description

Symptom:
Virtual Firepower Management Centers (FMC) will not upgrade to the Firepower 6.6.0 software release without at least 28GB of memory allocated to the virtual machine. The increased memory is required for the new Connection event datastore, enabling Cisco Threat Intelligence Director by default and fixing low memory conditions on the FMC. A message will appear in the upgrade task status shortly after the users starts the upgrade process.

Conditions:
The virtual machine for the FMC has less then 28GB of RAM available. 28GB is minimum allowable.

Workaround:
There are no work arounds for upgrade, the virtual machine must be upgraded to 28GB

解決策

FMCv を一度 Shutdown して頂き、Memoryの割当を28GB以上(推奨は32GB)へ変更後、再度upgradeを実施ください。
