AP故障,AP下的终端无法联网,重启AP能解决

AP型号为100多个2702和10几个2802

2702的从来没出过问题

2802的有几个经常故障,具体表现为,某个ap下的所有终端无法连网,重启ap后,终端在连上这个ap后就能上网了

这种问题该怎么排查呢

这个应该是AP2800/3800/4800/1560已知的bug。

Description
Symptom:
Connectivity issue experienced on new connections where client can't even move to RUN state due to DHCP failing, or, sometimes DHCP passes or client was already connected to the WLC and working fine and roams to an affected AP and seems to be a successful roam moving to RUN state, but client can't pass any more data frames for periods of time (recovering on their own, or until AP/radio are reset).

From AP debugs and OTA captures, we can see some traffic exchange, but at some point AP stops transmitting data frames over the air (could be DHCP, or ICMP, or other data traffic), affecting all clients connected at that time.

Conditions:
AP2800/3800/4800/1560 in use - this bug does not apply to any other AP platforms.

11ac MU-MIMO is in use (enabled at an active WLAN), and issue seems to be triggered when there is some load of 11ac clients that support MU-MIMO.

Workaround:
Disable MU-MIMO.

Temporary workaround: reboot AP or bounce AP radio.

Further Problem Description:
Although this bug CSCvt22353 may show as being Fixed, similar symptoms may continue to be
seen in APs running code with this commit. Track CSCvv78719 for a further fix to MU-MIMO
associated transmission failures.
 
在不重启AP的情况下,可以尝试关闭MU-MIMO试试看能否解决。

Cisco 2802 AP drops client ARP packets

Description
Symptom:
client can't pass traffic at all

Conditions:
AP is 2800 or 3800, does not happen on other APs
ARP requests from client are dropped by AP

Client ARP packets are dropped by the AP after successfully serving the client for a period of time

Once the client is not able to pass traffic the only way to recover is fresh auth from the client or roam client to a different AP.

Workaround:
None

我们还挺希望使用MU-MIMO的,毕竟能提高终端的可用带宽,我们的办公环境都是无线,如果关闭MU-MIMO 还挺影响使用的,是否有升级wlc版本或其它能解决的方法呢

如果针对这个bug的话,Cisco官方有公布fixed release。针对这个bug CSCvt22353

您需要看看您的版本,是否在fixed release里面,看一下是否有必要升级。另外一方面,之所以提出尝试关闭MU-MIMO,观察Client使用情况,也就是说验证是否的确匹配到这个bug。
 
PS:8.5(161.x)似乎并未解决这个问题。因为在这个bug里提示了如下内容:

With client tracing enabled on the AP, the AP indicates that it thinks that it is transmitting;
however, an over-the-air packet capture does not see these frames.

For example, DNS may fail - with the AP showing that it thinks it it sending the DNS REPLY packets out the radio:

But this packet is not seen in the OTA sniff, and is not received by the client.

Similar failures are seen with downstream DHCP OFFER, ARP response, etc. packets being dropped by the AP radio.

Conditions:
Seen with an AP of one of the following models: 2800/3800/4800/1560/6300. This bug does not apply to any other AP model.

This problem is most often seen with MU-MIMO enabled, but can also be seen with MU-MIMO disabled.

Workaround:
* Temporary workaround: reboot the AP.

Disabling MU-MIMO may reduce the frequency with which this problem is seen.

Further Problem Description:
CSCvt22353 was believed to have fixed MU-MIMO-caused transmission stalls, but problems persist
in AP code with the CSCvt22353 fix.

This bug CSCvv78719 does not fix the root cause of the problem, but implements a workaround: once
the AP detects that the radio transmission have stalled, it will reset the radio, restoring communications.
With this CSCvv78719 workaround, intermittent transmission stalls of 20 seconds or so may be experienced.

If you have the CSCvv78719 workaround in place, and are experiencing intermittent stalls and would like
to assist Cisco in determining the root cause of the bug, please open a TAC case and work with TAC ...
you will be asked to configure "show dot11 generic wlcfg wifi0/1 TcqStuckDebug 1" on the APs that
exhibit the problem, in order to collect further diagnostic information.

我当前的版本是 8.10.142.0 写着是fix的版本,但仍然有问题,看来是比较难解决。那再出问题我先试下禁用MU-MIMO

Release 8.10.142.0没有在CSCvv78719 里面,所以如果升级是一个选项的话,可以尝试升级到Release8.10.151.0。

总得来说,不管是disable MU-MIMO或者升级到“所谓的”fixed release,只能说有所缓解吧。

在不重启AP的情况下,尝试关闭MU-MIMO,仍然没办法解决问题,我已经将wlc升级到最新的系统了,再看看情况。

WLC从8.3.151升到8.5.17,出现一个奇怪的现象,客户端显示无线连接,但无法上网,网关也PING不通。断开重连就会出现拿不到IP地址。必须的重新启动AP,就恢复正常了。这个问题只出现在3800系列上,3600系列就没这个问题。

也就是说,AP3802丢弃DHCP和ARP的情况有可能存在。

我估计还是和CSCvv78719有关系。

我的WLC是5508,最高也就支持到8.5.171.0这个版本的固件了。能推荐一个低版本固件么没有这个问题的么
