Hi @akhil kamalakaran

Here’s some advice on the issue you’re experiencing with your ACI fabric health score:

Issue: ACI Fabric Health Score Not Changing

Details:

  1. APIC Model: APIC-SERVER-L4
  2. Leaf Model: N9K-C93180YC-EX
  3. Firmware Version: 5.3(2b)
  4. Symptoms: Health score remains static despite events in logs, affecting all leaf switches.

Potential Causes and Troubleshooting Steps:

  1. Check APIC and Leaf Switch Synchronization:

    • Ensure that the APIC controllers and leaf switches are properly synchronized. Sometimes, a lack of synchronization can cause discrepancies in health score updates.
  2. Review Faults and Events:

    • Examine the specific faults and events logged in the APIC. Look for any recurring issues or patterns that might indicate a broader problem affecting the health score.
  3. Firmware Version:

    • Verify if there are any known bugs or issues with firmware version 5.3(2b). Check Cisco’s release notes and advisories for any relevant information. If there are known issues, consider upgrading to a more stable firmware version.
  4. Health Score Calculation:

    • Understand how the health score is calculated in your ACI environment. The health score is typically derived from various metrics, including faults, performance, and configuration compliance. Ensure that all relevant metrics are being correctly reported and factored into the health score.
  5. APIC Logs and Diagnostics:

    • Collect and review APIC logs for any anomalies or errors that might be affecting the health score calculation. Use diagnostic tools available in the APIC to gather more detailed information.
  6. Check for Software Bugs:

    • Sometimes, software bugs can cause the health score to not update correctly. Check Cisco’s bug tracker or support forums for any similar issues reported by other users.
  7. Configuration Consistency:

    • Ensure that the configuration across all leaf switches is consistent and adheres to best practices. Inconsistent configurations can sometimes lead to issues with health score reporting.
  8. Contact Cisco Support:

    • If the issue persists after performing the above steps, consider reaching out to Cisco Support for further assistance. Provide them with detailed logs and information about your environment to expedite the troubleshooting process.

Next Steps:

  1. Perform Initial Diagnostics:

    • Start with basic diagnostics to ensure that there are no obvious issues with synchronization or configuration.
  2. Review Logs and Faults:

    • Dive deeper into the logs and faults to identify any specific issues that might be affecting the health score.
  3. Check Firmware and Software:

    • Verify if there are any updates or patches available for your current firmware version that address known issues.
  4. Engage Cisco Support:

    • If you are unable to resolve the issue internally, escalate it to Cisco Support with all relevant details and logs.

By following these steps, you should be able to identify and address the root cause of the static health score in your ACI fabric. If you need further assistance, feel free to ask!
