It's a jig-saw puzzle. Read the Verified Scalability Guide for 4.0(2) and then the release notes for 4.2(1). If there are no changes to limits mentioned in the release notes, then you should be able to rely on the limits specified in the Verified Scalability Guide for 4.0(2).
If you want to be really sure, you might alos need to read the APIC release notes for 4.1(1) and 4.1(2)
