Hi All,

I have some questions as below

1. Can the spine and leaf configure OOB interface by using console access to the box itself but not discovered by APIC and then configured from APIC ?

2. If yes, please send me the related document as I can't find any.

3. Can I perform Upgrade/downgrade firmware on the box individually but not from APIC as well ?

Regards

CK

1. No, you cannot configure OOB without first setup APICs

2. N/A

3. Yes, you can setup boot-up image for each switches individually from the CLI, or during initial boot up sequence.

Examples from CLI

leaf-1# dir bootflash/

aci-n9000-dk9.11.2.3c.bin

prepare-mfg.sh  aci-n9000-dk9.11.2.3c.bin

Reload switch after

OR

setup-clean-config.sh aci-n9000-dk9.11.2.3c.bin

setup-bootvars.sh aci-n9000-dk9.11.2.3c.bin

If you break-escape the boot-up sequence, you can use boot (ACI image name)

Unless something has changed in the last 3 years, you can locally configure management ip on leaf/spine using a cmosio utility.  I documented the procedure internally for TAC on ‎06-19-2015.  Further questions should probably be directed to TAC to verify the utility still works like I documented.  I would highly advise not doing this as the only way to get rid of these management parameters is to remove them with the same utility that sets them.
