Thanks for using SupportForums. Regarding your question, there is great information all over cisco.com and on youtube from some of our Technical Marketing Experts. 

Ill try to give you a quick explanation:

Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) is a software define network fabric consisting of nexus 9000 and Application Policy Infrastructure Controllers (APICs). The controllers do all the configuration onto the switches. The idea here is that we are trying to look at the network not from a VLAN or subnet point of view but from an application standpoint. What application needs to talk to what service or other application more or less. Regardless of VLAN or subnet, ACI on the back-end will handle the traditional routing and vlan tagging.
