Hi Guys

Our company just purchased some ACI Kit recently

However the APIC is not discovery the leaf or spine, if I do a show lldp neighbor on the leaf it can see the APIC

I have disabled LLDP for the VIC

Perfromed the following on the APIC

acidiag touch clean

acidiag setup

acidiag reload

I also reset the leaf with no luck, what I am doing wrong ?

Any help is much appreciated

With the  C93180YC-EX, you will need 11.3(1) or later and the APIC will need to be 1.3(1) and later.

Cisco Application Policy Infrastructure Controller, Release 1.3(1), Release Notes

Cisco NX-OS Release 11.3(1) Release Notes for Cisco Nexus 9000 Series ACI-Mode Switches

So as you mentioned, you will need to upgrade your APIC to a supported release and then upgrade all the switches to the matching release.

Okay update i managed to get the APIC to see the leaf at least by setting the NIC setting in the CIMC interface from shared LOM to dedicated however now my APIC sees the leaf but when I give it a node ID and node name the leaf does not get an IP address

Just FYI time on leaf and controller is off by a minute

Any ideas ?

Update 2: Found this

LAB1# acidiag fnvread
ID Name Serial Number IP Address Role State LastUpdMsgId
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
110 LF-110 FDOxxxxxxx 0.0.0.0 leaf unsupported 0

Total 1 nodes

time offset by couple of minute is not going to affect Fabric discovery.

can you confirm if both APIC and leaf here are running the same software version.

Seems like the leaf has firmware that is way ahead of the APIC, going to upgrade the APIC in 10 minutes

LAB1# acidiag fnvread
ID Name Serial Number IP Address Role State LastUpdMsgId
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
110 LF-110 FDOxxxxxxx 0.0.0.0 leaf unsupported 0

What version is your APIC?

What Model Numbers are you Leaf and Spine nodes?

Thanks

T.

Tomas, based on serial number of Leaf, it is a 93180YC-EX.

Apic 1.2(1i)

Spine C9336PQ

Leaf C93180YC-EX

You are 100%. In my case the leaf shipped with firmware for APIC version 2.1 so I just upgrade to 2.1 and now my APIC has discovered my leaf and spines. I will add the other APICS, Spines and leaves next week

Friendly reminder, not a great idea to post your device's IPs and/or Serial Numbers on public forums.  I've blanked them out above (SN).

Thanks!
