Cisco ACI VMM: should we use AVS or VMware DVS?

Hi,

 

AVS will not be supported in the release following vSphere 6.5 Update 1, Please see the link below:

So I recommend VMware DVS

If you want to take advantage of vxlan, I would suggest looking into ACI AVE. The Cisco AVE is very similar to the Cisco AVS with the difference that it is running on a VM instead of the ESX kernel as the AVS does.  Since the AVE runs on a VM, you don’t have to worry about the end of support for 3rd party DVS from VMWare.
