Connecting Physical Server to ACI Fabric

Trinh Nguyen

I have a new ACI just turned on and attached to the core switch.  The goal is migrating servers from core to ACI one VLAN at a time.

BD_1504 and EPG_1504 were created for all hosts in VLAN 1504.  SVI for 1504 is at the core switch.  I think the link and VLAN are correct because I can see clients in VLAN 1504 are populating in the EPG_1504 Operational.

Two physical servers connect to port 13 on two FEXs which connect to two LEAVE.  These severs have not been able to communicate.  They can’t even communicate with each other.   I have tried with Trunk and Access 802.1P in Mode

Fex Profile Interface Policy Group GENERIC associates to AEP with Physical Domain that include all VLANs in Production

Any helps, suggestions is appreciated.  Apology if this question has been answered.

Regards,

how did you configure the static binding? if you want access port, please try either 802.1p (recommended) or access(untagged)

thanks for the output. one more command...

-show interface e111/1/13

by the looks of it, they are virtual machines (mac 0050), if they are windows, can you confirm the firewall is disabled for both?

Hello

Thanks for using SupportForums

To get started, please provide the following output from the leaf

-show fex detail

-show fex

-show vlan ex

-show endpoint

Im not sure i understood but you have a FEX connected to two leafs? or the endpoint is connected to two FEX on two different leafs?

Dpita,

Thank you for your help.

These are two hosts connect to two FEXs.  We can focus on one host on leaf111-fex111-port13.  These are the show commands that you request, I hope I did not omit any crucial details.

Regards,

This is the show interface where the server connect to.  Note that the Port mode is TRUNK.  How can I make this trunk port with native VLAN 1504?  I think that is my problem.

dpita,

That is, change the binding to 802.1p works.  While in EPG not allow mixing trunk with access binding, it does allow trunk and 802.1p.

Best Regards.
