GARP best practices

Hi,

I'm trying to understand under which scenarios it is recommended to enable GARP (and hence, ARP Floding). According to the ACI Fabric Endpoint Learning White Paper:

Cisco ACI can detect MAC and IP address movement between leaf switch ports, leaf switches, bridge domains, and EPGs, it does not detect the movement of an IP address to a new MAC address if the new MAC address is from the same interface and same EPG as the old MAC address.

However, the Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure Design Guide White Paper recommends enabling GARP when an IP address may have a different MAC address (for example, with clustering of failover of load balancers and firewalls

According to the endpoint whitepaper statement, for a cluster of firewalls or load balancers connected to different interfaces, it won't be necessary to enable GARP because the interfaces are not the same and ACI will detect this by default. However, the Design Guide is more generic and includes any cluster configuration.

Someone has experimented with the ACI behavior with clusters and GARP disabled?

Thanks.
