Guideline for no. of spine switches

Dear Expert, 

Would like to know whether there is any guideline for no. of Spine switches one should have w.r.t. leaf switches. For example If there are 20 nos of leaf switches what should be no. of Spine Switches. For example, we have proposed 2 nos. of Nexus 9504 switches with 19-20 nos. of leaf access switches henec would like to know whether it is ok to have those nos. or what is the best practice.

Hi Raviraj,

The number of spine requirement is a design decision. You can definitely have 20 x leaf and 2 x spine.

Each of the Leaf will have connectivity to each of the spine.  When you have more spine, then the upstream band width for leaf and redundancy also will increase.
