Hi Ibrahim,

Considering your campus core on 6509 is a separate L3 network and no L2 extension is required, you can have L3 out with campus core. Simple routed connectivity.

L2 out is configured in case there is requirement of L2 extension (same vlan encap required in both networks). Usually used during migration of existing DC on traditional network to ACI.

bro

what is ur strategy and Technique to Migrate to ACI , current we have collapsed core , all our APP resided in HP Blade , with multiple ESXi hosts on it

thanks

Hi Ibrahim,

Migration approach may differ from case to case. However, you can refer the document below which can help you plan your migration.

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/datacenter/aci/apic/sw/migration_guides/migrating_existing_networks_to_aci.html

Let me know if that answers your query!

thanks

We are in the process of this migration today. We started with a 1:1 mapping of VLANs with ACI Pool/PD/EPG/BD to have a little more control. We also created new {Server/WIFI/Firewall/DMZ/Load Balancers} Pools, Physical Domains, EPG and Bridge Domains for migration with our VM environment. We created new profiles for our UCS and migrate each subnet 1 by 1 for more control and less risk. So far so good. The doc in the previous link is  a good reference.
