Monitor BGP Routes Recieved / Available neighbours via ACI Rest API

Hey all,

I'm actively looking to monitor our multiple ACI deployments, recently these are doing BGP directly with other infrastructure. I would like to be able to monitor the BGP routes Received, Admin status, Peer Status.

I've been looking through the API Classes to try and find something suitable for this, but i'm coming up short.

I have a feeling its doable via SNMP, similar to how we currently monitor our routers. But trying to move with the times and utilize the API, I'd like to get this information via the API as that's how our entire ACI infra is currently monitored using https://github.com/RavuAlHemio/prometheus_aci_exporter.

If anyone is actively monitoring their environments using the API and more specifically the BGP aspect, it would be great to get some feedback on this.

TIA,

Aaron

Hi Aaron, I believe you can use the API inspector to create the request for the specific use case. Attaching a sample output.

ACI inspector documentation can be found here - https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/dcn/aci/apic/5x/getting-started/cisco-apic-getting-started-guide-52x/m_apic_gui_overview.html?bookSearch=true
