monitoring NTP on ACI Fabric?

Hi all,

I've got an ACI fabric deployed, and we are in the process of establishing our monitoring approach.  For major stuff, we're looking at coding something against the API for Health Alerts and stuff.

For some of the more basic stuff (is the leaf switch up?), we're using a more traditional probe-based monitoring system.  One of the checks we have is an NTP check and I'm trying to set it up.  The check is pretty basic.  From the monitoring server, the check just does "ntpq -nc peers <IP of Leaf>".  However, we get no response from the ACI switches (the apics do respond to this check).

So, is there a way to modify ntp.conf or somehow allow remote systems to query NTP on these devices?  It would be nice to have alerts and graphs on our monitoring system along with all the other hosts...

any info is appreciated!

thanks!

NTP services for all nodes are configured in the Fabric Policies on the APIC.  Here is an example on how to check NTP status on the different Nodes:

For Leaf & Spine Nodes:

# show ntp peer-status

For the APIC:

# show ntp

I hope this helps!
