Redundant DHCP Relay in ACI

Hello,

i am wondering what is the best way to provide redundant DHCP-Setup in ACI.

it is important to understand that in our environment the dhcp-servers are not a cluster but standalone machines. therefore we need to add 2 of them to the Bridge Domain.

how to do this best?

  1. 2x DHCP Relay Labels in the BD and every Relay Label contains 1x DHCP Server
  2. 1 x DHCPE Relay Label in the BD and this Relay label contains 2x DHCP Server. i think this is the best way...BUT in orur scenario the DHCP Servers are externa reachable via L3out...and putitng there 2 servers via one L3out seems not to be possible.
  3. Something else

thanks for you suggestions

A single Relay label can only be applied to a single path due to the nature of how the object DN is constructed.  Since you have a single path (L3Out) and 2 unique DHCP Servers behind it, you'd need to configure two unique DHCP Relay labels, each with one of the DHCP server targets pointing to the same L3out path.
