I have two ACE 4710 appliances in a data center that need to be FT peers. The two devices are close together and only two ports are used in each. Can I use a cross over cable to connect them directly and use that link as dedicated FT link for FT vlan?
Another question: in each 4710, I'm using two ports right now. The ports are not in port-channel. They are connected to 6509 switches as following:
ACE4710 ----(two trunk links)--- 6509 ----(trunk)---- 6509 ---(two trunk links)--- ACE4710
Between 4710 and 6509, one trunk passes through client side vlans, and the other trunk passes through server side vlans. If not the cross over cable solution, I need to pass the FT vlan from 4710 to 4710. Does it matter if I use the client side trunk to pass the FT vlan or the server side trunk?
Thanks a lot
