Is the ACE module session aware

Hi,

Im currently testing the ACE module for an antispam solution. The antispam has two ports incoming (port1) and outgoing (port2). I'm doing the load balancing on the incoming context (port1 is for SMTP incoming traffic) for SMTP traffic while my other context is for the Outgoing using just the normal routing. It is doing the load balancing however asymmetric routing is being seen on the antispam equipment. PBR is used to redirect the incoming traffic to the incoming context where the redirection policy is applied. PBR is also used for the return traffic from internet towards the interface in the Outgoing context.

Hi Nell,

We need to get more information if we are going to troubleshoot this. For a start, what is your configuration (on both the ACE and the switch doing the PBR) and what is the exact traffic flow you are seeing

Since there is quite a lot of information required, it would be better if you open a TAC service request to have it investigated further.

Regards

Daniel

Yes the ACE is a stateful device.  Aysemmetric traffic flows will be dropped unless you disable nomalization on the interface.
