Upgrading ACE30 8Gbps license

Hi all,

I need to upgrade a pair of ACE30s to 8Gbps.

According to the administration guide, there will be no impact.

BUT, it states also:

All license installations except one have no adverse impact to an operating ACE.

Ofcourse, nothing is said about which one has impact.

I assume it's the 16Gbps license but is there someone who can confirm this?

Hello Dario, when I upgraded to 16Gbps license I had to restart. In my experience (not huge amount) this has been the only license I have had to restart on the ACE.

This document also suggests a reboot when a license is applied from 8Gbps to 16Gbps for ACE10 & 20 mods I think.

Nothing about ACE30 but I don't believe it should be any different unless Cisco have been productive with their licensing requirements and processes on the appliance itself.
