Upgrading to WAAS 5.4.1

Hey

We are planning to upgrade our environment (+250 devices) to the 5.4.1 version, and besides testing, we wanted to ask the community if anyone else completed the upgrade, and if so, any positive or negative experiences you want to share ?

Yeps,

That's what I mentioned. it could be helpful or pain that depends.

  • Enhancements to SMB version 2 Optimization - Cisco WAAS supports SMB v2 application performances and provides improve read-ahead, asynchronous write, and directory listing optimization.
  • eMAPI enhancement-- Added support for a single encryption service to support up to 32 matches in order to support hierarchical domain deployments.

Hi Jesper,

I'd suggest that you refer the release notes for a better understanding for the WAAS 5.4 before upgrading to it.

It has some changes and features that can be helpful or a pain depends totally on the design and implementation.

Hope that helps.

Absolutely :) -

We ended up upgrading last week, and have no issues (as per our tests) actually, quite the opposite, we now have effective optimization on eMAPI
