WAAS 5.3.3

Srin_G

Hi,

Testing 5.3.3 in our lab.

I have a CM (274), Core (594) and edge (274).

The issue is that the routers cant see the WAE. I made sure the i have right wccp password etc...

Interception is wccp. I use WCCP GRE as both redirect and egress method.

What am I missing here?

The routers used in the lab are 2600 and 1900!

Regards

Both,

Cisco 2600 platforms do NOT support MASK assignments at all !!

Cisco 1900 (ISR-G2) does.

Also please refer to this document for newer platforms :

Hi Srini,

Can you share the configuration related to WCCP on router as well as WAE?

Ensure that there is no ACL which is blocking the communication from WAE IP's.

Are you able to ping the WAE's from the router and vice-versa?

Can you check if WCCP is running fine on WAE? show wccp status should if it is up and running.

what does show wccp routers show in wae? What is the output of show ip wccp on router?

Can you capture and see what is going on between router and wae during wccp negotiation (Here_i_am and I_see_you ) messages?

Regards,

Kanwal

Hi Kanwaljeet,

If i change the load balancing as "hash" it works straightaway. We do load balancing using "mask" in production environment. In the lab my core waas (10.55.40.20)  and wccp router (10.55.90.254) are in the same subnet. Does it have to be in different subnet for the "mask" to work?

regards

Hi Srini,

Which router are you using in the lab?

Do you have any logs from router related to WCCP or a capture which shows WCCP negotiation  between WAE and router.

If it is working for HASH it should work for MASK unless router is not agreeing on MASK assignment. More info would be needed.

Can you share WAE configuration ?

Kanwal
