Can we use Layer 2 redirection and Layer 2 packet return when ACNS and WAAS co-exists in the same vlan ?

Hi Ron,

Yes, I don't see an issue with that.

ACNS and WAAS will have different IP addresses and different MAC addresses and they are using different WCCP services, so this should work fine, even when redirecting to both from the same device (switch or router).

If you have redirect statements for both ACNS and WAAS on the same interface, you need to carefully design you redirect lists, though, to avoid any overlap. With multiple WCCP redirect statements on the same interface and for the same direction, the service with highest priority is checked first, only if no match the next lower priority service is checked. With WAAS and ACNS higher service ID means lower priority. On software-switched platforms you may also need the "ip wccp check services all" command [1] in this case.

Regards,
Michael
