WAAS Express to Express

                   I am building a hub and spoke network

Hub = cisco 1921

Spoke = 881 x5

Linked via IPSEC on 256k wan

Both these devices support WAAS Express. Can I just turn this on or do I need to purchase extra hardware, to control the WAAS?

Hi Martin,

WAAS Express devices are only to be used on Edge sites (They do DRE encoding only I believe) so I'm afraid you'll have to invest in WAAS appliances for the core/hub side if you want to accelerate your traffic.

Hi Martin,

You'll need at least two WAAS appliances: one that will be used as Central Manager and one to be used as Accelerator on the Central site.
