Update on One-to-One NAT

Don,

haven't heard any thing on this in a while (NAT); has this fallen off the radar?  Also, PPTP VPN server function doesn't appear to be working properly (unless I'm missing something).  Why does it keep "dis-allowing" me to configure a PPTP server on the same segment?  My microsoft 2003 vpn server runs on the same segment (172.16.29.0) as everything else and I have zero issues.

Little help,please?  :-)

Hi Jay,

Sorry but indeed your issues are somewhat falling off the radar. I don't know much detail but for some reason, it seemed that it's more difficult to fix.

Thus for the time being, you may still want to use work-around:

  • For one-to-one NAT, make designated server (hosting device) reside in vlan1.
  • For PPTP server subnet: Although PPTP client resided in a subnet, but this client should be able to access all other devices in different subnets. Just make sure your vlan is enable w/ inter-vlan routing.

Hope it help.

Don
