Linksys Phone Adaptor PAP2-NS

I have a Linksys PAP2-NS analogue phone adaptor.

The current firmware version is 3.1.8 (LS)

I am unable to find the model PAP2-NS in the cisco searches.

I have downloaded the lates firmware version 5.1.6 for PAP2T but when I try to update it gives me the message

UPGRADE FAILED: Version not matching

Can anyone assist pls

Where did you download the firmware from ?

Perhaps, a direct upgrade from 3.x to 5.x is not supported & might need an intermediate upgrade ( like in case of Cisco IP Phones ). By any chance do you have release notes kind of document for that 5.x firmware release?

If you could help me with the download URL, I should be able to locate the release note type of doc ( if any ) & confirm it for you.

I downloaded the version from:-

The TXT file included witrh the firmware update only indicated what fixes this version had

it did not indicate the need or not for direct update
