PBX Port Extension over LAN using SPA 2102 / 3102

Dear Friends,

I am trying to connect an analog phone that resides in a remote location via LAN to an analog PBX residing in a central location.

This is a schematic

[PBX}--(fxs port)--> [SPA 2102} ------ (LAN) ------ [SPA 3102] -- [Analog Phone]

I want to get PBX dial tone on the Analog Phone and be able to place calls through the PBX.

I am NOT interested for the time beeing to place calls through the 3102 directly, so I can use any of the available 3102 ports. Also there will be NO Internet connectivity on any of the SPAs

Does anyone have already done this? If so can you send me the configuration for the analog ports of the SPAs?

Thanks a lot for your attention and help.

Best regards

Michael

If your PBX has an FXS port you must connect an FXO device so you must use  the SPA3102.

The phone must be connect to an FXS port so you must use the SPA2102.

[PBX]--(fxs port)--> [SPA 3102 FXO} ------ (LAN) ------ [SPA 2102 FXS] -- [Analog Phone FXO]

You must configure the SPA to make calls without REG and configure the opposite ip address in the Proxy setting of the SPA:

SPA 3102 with IP ADDRESS 192.168.100.1  -------------- (LAN) ------------ SPA 2102 with IP ADDRESS 192.168.100.2

THE PROXY IS THE REMOTE SPA 192.168.100.2                              THE PROXY IS THE REMOTE SPA 192.168.100.1

USER 100                                                                                          USER 101

Finally you must configure the dial-plan of both devices.

Regards.

Thanks Daniele,

I'll check it out and let you know how it goes.

Best Regards

Michael

Hello Daniele,

I tried what you suggested, but \i don;t seem to get a dial tone on the far side, and / or to be able to dial from it.

The IP of the far SPA 3102 is 192.168.1.244 and thedial plan I use is

(S0<:192.168.1.245>)

The IP of the near SPA 2102 is 192.168.1.245 and thedial plan I use is

(S0<:192.168.1.244>)

Is it correct?

Also I noticed that you use a DNS Server (the tab in your page is Yes) and I do not have any DNS servers in my network so I have it set to : NO

Any suggestions?

Thanks again

Michael

DNS SRV records are not important.

Try to use the hotline feature in dial-plan. In this way, when phone goes off hook, the SPA2102 calls the SPA3102 extension automatically.

SPA 3102 with IP ADDRESS 192.168.1.244  ------ (LAN) ----- SPA 2102 with IP ADDRESS 192.168.1.245

THE PROXY IS THE REMOTE SPA 192.168.1.245              THE PROXY IS THE REMOTE SPA 192.168.1.244

USER 100                                                                           USER 101

DIAL-PLAN EXAMPLE: ( P0 <:101>)                                  DIAL-PLAN EXAMPLE: ( P0 <:100>)

EXAMPLE: ( P0 <:100>)

With the timer set to 0 seconds, the call is transmitted automatically to the specified extension when the phone goes off hook.

If it doesn't work add the syslog of SPA2102 and SPA3102.

Regards.
