Phone not working on Linksys ATA

I have several phones connected to a SPA3102. With one of those phones i have some strange noice when I it pick up . Kind of interruptions of the line.

This phone (brand Topic/Audility) works fine directly on the landline. It also works good on ATA's of other brand (tested on Fritzbox).

I also tested it on a PAP2T. Same problem as on SPA3102.

There is some cryptic information in the syslog:

Hi Mark,

No, we do not have a way of configuring this. It looks like you have found a device that our ATAs are not compatible with.

Hi Mark,

using 2wire or 4wire cable between Phone and ATA?

Regards,

Tomas

Hello Tomas,

I use 4 wire cable. Only 2 wires are used.

There is a LED on the phone. It is illuminated bij the line-current. It flashes a bit  on the rithm of what I hear.

When I mesure the current: it goes up and down from 15 to 20 mA.

When I put a second phone in parallel and I thake both off-hook: no problem anymore.

Regards,

Mark

Mark,

i have similar problem, please try 2wire cable. Which included in PAP2T or SPA ATAs.

Regards,

Tomas

Hello,

2-wire cable does not change anything. I did some more investigations:

I connected the bad phone on the landline. I takes 17 mA current. My official phone takes 39 mA.

Conclusion: the bad phone has too high resistance.

Is there a setting on the spa3102 I can adjust ? Some treshhold for the off-hook-current detection ?

Regards,

Mark.
