Were in the process of deploying Cisco SPA112's for fax only service in our locations. We've put about 10 into play and everything went smooth with the ones behind our Asus RT-56U routers. We have a few stores on Cisco 2901's and I cannot get the fax's to work. I get either a comm error or check readability of transmitted pages. I've ran through all kinds of fax setup tutorials and still no dice. Fax machine's are Brother 7840's, 7860's. I've set them to a VOIP setting on the machine still no dice. I've thought about using a DSL filter to try and lower the transmission rate but didn't have a filter with me today for testing.
As far as the cisco goes there is nothing special about them except QOS for the VOIP phones. I've found that our stores that have 3-5 VOIP phones don't work with cheap routers but work flawlessly with the Cisco 2901's. I've turned the QOS off and still no dice either. Any thoughts, idea's, tips, tricks, or just things to try would be great.
