SPA112 use with Call Manager

We have used ATA 186 devices with our Call Manager system for use with fax machines and analog phones in a manufacturing environment.  I am hopeful that the SPA112 can be used as a lower cost alternative to the older ATAs.

I have searched for basic configuration information for use with Call Manager but haven't come across anything.

Can these devices be used with Call Manager and is there basic information available on how to configure them?

Thanks.

Hi Jon,

The SPA products are not officially interop tested with CUCM and are thus officially supported.

The SPA products are developed to adhere to standards and relevant RFCs so should have no problem when added as third party SIP devices.

Scroll to the bottom of the https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-9899#comment-5703 document where user mreed provides notes on their configuration which will be similar to what you need.

Hi Patrick,

I configured everything as described by the user in the link you provided.  The SPA does not register with CUCM and I do not get dial tone.

I must be missing something in the configuration.  I will keep playing with it but I'm not having any luck.

Thanks,

Jon

Hi Jon,

I've just configured a SPA112 (1.3.1(003) with CUCM (9.0.1) on my lab Business Edition 6000 (aka BE6000 or BE6k).

I was able to get to SPA112 to register with CUCM, play dial tone, to make, and receive calls.

I'll document and post what I did.

Regards,

Patrick---

Great!  I will look forward to seeing your documentation.

Thanks for your help.

Thanks Patrick.  This procedure works perfectly.

I appreciate your help.

Patrick,

Can you re-post your procedure to configure the SPA112 to work with CUCM?  The link above no longer works.  Thanks.

Bumping this request if anyone has documentation on this.

Hello guys,

Anyone have the documentation?

Thank you!

The link

https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-31744

Does not work anymore.

Does anyone have this documentation?

Thank you in advance!

Were you able to find the document ?

Is there any good reason why the document on SPA112 to CUCM is no longer available ? I've been looking around for too long.

I am going to take a guess Cisco prefers people to not get home gear working with their enterprise stuff like this?

The SPA112 is essentially the same as the Linksys PAP2t adapter.

They both use SIP protocol, and can be added to Callmanager, but I don't think the SPA112 is supported in this configuration.

I was able to get the SPA112 to work with CallManager by adding it as an Advanced SIP device.  That uses more licenses (6 I think).

https://supportforums.cisco.com/thread/2082101

That details getting a Linksys PAP2 device working with CallManager 7.1

I got SPA112's working by using the info in that link.  You have to set it all up manually, but it does work.
