Hi,
I'm a small home office user of the SPA2102. I've spent an hour on the phone today to MyNetFone trying to resolve this issue without success, so hope some help may be available here:
1. I have a Brother MFC-9120CN multifunction plugged into line 2 of my VOIP modem. I have successfully sent faxes when this unit is plugged directly into a land line but I can not send faxes when plugged into the VOIP line.
2. The machine dials the number, the receiving machine answers the call but my machine doesn't connect to the receiver. It sits beeping as if it is still waiting for a connection.
3. Strangely enough, after around 15 attempts today, one transmission was successfully sent. I'm begining to think this is something to do with the line quality.
I've attached a copy of the line settings if this is of any help. Look forward to any help people can offer.
Thanks.

Hi!
Check this settings and set T.38 or G.711 passthrough according to your ISP settings.

What fax method is used by your provider?
T.38 or G.711 passthrough?
I suggest you to upgrade the firmware of the SPA to latest 5.2.12.
During fax call try to see if FAX indication pass from NO to YES.
See image below:
Can you add the config of the SPA again using .mht extension?
Regards.

A second suggestion.
Set the COMPATIBILITY MODE of your Brother to BASE.
In this way the fax turn off ECM and V.34 modulation.
Regards.

Thanks everyone for your help and input. I followed steps 5 and 6 in the guide suggested by Marian (which are the same as pages 55 and 56 of this guide):
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/csbpvga/ata/administration/guide/ATA_AG_v3_NC-WEB.pdf
This seems to have resolved the problem so far. We'll see if it continues.
Thanks again!
