SPA8000 does not accept certain valid parameters

Hello,

I am pushing my config to my device through http://<device>/admin/resync?tftp://<my-tftp-server>/<config-file>.txt

It is accepting changes fine, with the exception of the following:

<Networking_Service ua="rw" group="Lan_Status/">Bridge</Networking_Service>

<Enable_DHCP_Server ua="rw" group="Lan_Status/LAN_Network_Settings">No</Enable_DHCP_Server>

It keeps reverting these back to these values:

<Networking_Service ua="rw" group="Lan_Status/">NAT</Networking_Service>
<Enable_DHCP_Server ua="rw" group="Lan_Status/LAN_Network_Settings">Yes</Enable_DHCP_Server>

Again, all other changes I apply seem to work fine; so I know the device is accepting my config and trying to apply it..

Thoughts?

Kind Regards,

HondaLove

You can use the Profile Compiler SPC tool to generate a valid xml configuration example.

You can find it at this link:

http://software.cisco.com/download/release.html?mdfid=282414110&softwareid=282562500&release=6.1.11&relind=AVAILABLE&rellifecycle=&reltype=latest

Regards.

SPA8000 doesn't support BRIDGE mode.

Regards.

It is supported in SPA2102.. These are read-write values, not just read; what are other valid parameters? I have not been able to find documentation on BRIDGE/NAT.

Thanks,

Hey Daniele,

The compiler does not actually generate this value in it's XML config export for some strange reason.

Thanks,

HL

Try this, for me works:

C:\Documents and Settings\Desktop>spa8000-6-1-11-spc-win32-i386.exe --sample-xml cfg.xml

spc: generated SPA8000 sample configuration cfg.xml

I've attached cfg.xml.

Regards.

Hey Daniele,

Thanks for generating this. This is the same output that it provided me; howeer, I don't see anything referencing the original XML in question:

Networking_Service
Enable_DHCP_Server

Thanks,

HL

These parameters are unchangeable. You can find more info in the ATA admin guide here:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/csbpvga/ata/administration/guide/ATA_AG_v3_NC-WEB.pdf

See the comparison table at page 12:

RJ-45 Ethernet (LAN) of SPA8000: Maintenance only

See SPA8000 connectivity at page 18:

By default, the device on the AUX port is assigned the network address 192.168.0.0 with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0. If there is a network address

conflict with a device on the Ethernet port, the network address of the device on the AUX port is automatically changed to 192.168.1.0.

Notes at page 19:

The SPA8000 is not designed to forward IP packets to devices connected to its AUX port and that configuration is not supported.

Regards.
