There is a way to have a Jabber client, up&run on a Debian desktop? (Debian -- The Universal Operating System) https://www.debian.org/
If there is so, I will appreciate any guidance, url & tech-info available.
Thank in advance.
Eduard.

The Jabber PC clients or Jabber SDK are not supported on Linux.
Note, Linux-based IM & Presence clients can often use XMPP for IM & Presence with either CUCM/IM&P or WebEx Connect (e.g. Pidgen).

Depending on the level of support you need for your client, Pidgin or Jitsi should work fine.
I happen to prefer Jitsi Debian Repository | Jitsi but I think most people like Pidgin.
