Jabber Voice SDK support for Extend and Connect (CTIRD) devices?

What is the capability to support of CTIRD type devices (Extend and Connect) with the Jabber Voice SDK? Currently this works from Jabber Desktop clients however in testing with the sample SDK I noticed those device types are not selectable (even with an existing JabberRD setup, in either Softphone or Deskphone modes).

I'm assuming this would require a new "Mode" to connect in to support the syntax of allowing a JabberRD to be updated by the client? This is fairly key for feature parity between users of the desktop versus SDK clients so any info on this (or potentially a way to implement it today) would be appreciated!

The Jabber SDK does not currently support E&C endpoints - I understand this is on the enhancement roadmap, but not date/release yet committed.
