Is there a unified way of handling carriage returns in xml services (within CiscoIPPhoneMenu)?

Phones handle "\n" differently, for example:

  • 7965: '\n' displayed as new line
  • 8961: '\n' displayed as ' ' (space)
  • 8861: '\n' displayed as '' (empty)

Seems simply not supported for many phones:

• The Name field under the <MenuItem> supports a maximum of 64 characters. This field can also accept two carriage returns to allow the MenuItem name to span three lines on the display.

• The 8945 IP Phone and 9900 series IP Phones do not support "\n" and carriage returns in MenuItem.
