Hi There,

We deployed a couple of Cisco C3560CX switch via APIC-EM P&P a couple of weeks ago, recently those switches status became 'unclaimed' after I upgrade APIC-EM from  1.3.2.37 to 1.4.3.1009. Please check the event of one of the switch below: may i know why? how can we fix it?

Thanks in advance.

Not sure how to go about fixing it, it looks like the device status in the DB was somehow reset during the upgrade of APIC-EM.

Is it necessary that the device show up in the PnP screens at all? If not I would think you can just delete it and do a regular discovery to manage it. Would that meet your needs?

Thanks David.

Unfortunately we still got same issue after rediscovery. Please check history info from one of the equipment. Anyone can help?

Cheers,

Bright

So is the 3560 just sitting there with no configuration now or does it have the configuration that was pushed from APIC-EM 1.3 when it worked the first time?

They all got the configuration that was pushed from APIC-EM 1.3 and worked very well.

They are still online and doing their job, but APIC-EM 1.4 keep saying they are unclaimed ☺

I am guessing at this point, but I think the database, for whatever reason, lost that it was already provisioned, and since it is already provisioned, it is not going through the process that it normally would. Is there any issue with just deleting it from the PnP project? At least that way you son't have to stare at it saying Unclaimed :-)

The problem is that it will come back after second every time when I deleted them from PnP project.

I just worried some guys accidently claim those equipment and break the switches. Now I have to lockdown all other users access to APIC-EM just in case. It’s very annoyed.

Cheers,

Bright

Ahhh, ok, yeah I get it now. Yeah, I would bet that the database is corrupt, which I saw after my upgrade from1.3 to 1.4 as well. I did a reset grapevine to fix it, but that can be super annoying. Maybe open a TAC case and  if they have any tricks up their sleeve?

LOL, I thought you are TAC engineer.

If I can’t get answer from here, I will log a TAC.

Thanks mate.

Hi Bright,

did you try to "ignore" the device in the unclaimed list?
