Thoughts on Cisco joining Intel's Network Builders ecosystem
Dave Ward, Cisco's engineering CTO and Chief Architect, announced Cisco's participation in Intel's Network Builders ecosystem. I find this exciting as Cisco's involvement strengthens the ecosystem and will undoubtedly improve the state of open source and open standards pertaining to network function virtualization (NFV) and software defined networking (SDN). Examples include joint efforts in the OpenStack, OpenDaylight, OVS, and OPNFV communities as well as relevant standards in the IETF, such as Network Service Header. But don't take my word for it, check out the Telecom TV interview with Dave Ward and Intel’s John Healy and share what you think.
