Cisco Room Kit Registered With CUCM

Hi,

https://developer.cisco.com/site/jtapi/documents/cti-tapi-jtapi-supported-device-matrix/

Cisco Spark Remote DeviceNANACTI Supported. Not supported from CiscoJTAPI and CiscoTSP

I can see it's a CTI supported device but not supported by Cisco JTAPI or TSP.

Can you please tell which server side CTI API supports Cisco Room Kits?

Is there a way or CUCM database table where I can check login & logout time of particular user on particular Cisco Room Kit device?

Apart from xCommand (https://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/td/docs/telepresence/endpoint/ce90/room-kit-api-reference-guide-ce90.pdf)

Regards,

Umesh

Does Cisco Extension Mobility API supports Cisco Room Kits?

  • My interpretation of the compatibility matrix note is that Spark RDs are virtual CUCM devices implemented via the CUCM CTI protocol (perhaps similar to CTI Remote Devices), but they are not exposed/supported via the TAPI/JTAPI libraries (that themselves work via the CTI protocol behind the scenes.)  The hybrid call service likely interacts with CUCM CTI 'directly' (e.g. via some kind of tunneled QBE protocol or other undocumented API), which is not something a 3rd party app can do.
  • There are some call control REST APIs emerging from the Webex cloud side - see https://developer.webex.com/docs/api/v1/call-controls - which might provide some TAPI/JTAPI-like capabilities for the Room Kit, though there are some key caveats, such as being limited in scope to only calls belonging to the individual user, lack of device-specific visibility, call notifications/events still under development, etc.
  • As CUCM only knows about the Spark RD device in its configs/operational data, I don't believe you would be able to get visibility into user logins/logouts (actually not sure what you mean specifically re login/logout of a Room Kit device - could you elaborate?).  You might look at the Webex Teams /devices REST API, which includes a 'personId' field for the currently associated user: https://developer.webex.com/docs/api/v1/devices/get-device-details

Thanks for reply David.

We are registering Room Kits with CUCM as per customer requirement. WebEx is not in this scenario. So we need to use CUCM API for tracking login/logout of use on these devices.

xCommand can be a way we are also exploring that if that will be a better approach or not.

Umesh
