We have a 2960s switch running 15.0(2)SE10a code. The switch rebooted very similar to the bug CSCee75743. We placed the config back on the switch and it rebooted minutes later. We verified that no cable is hitting the mode button and no cable is plugged into the first port.
%EXPRESS_SETUP-5-CONFIG_IS_RESET: The configuration is reset and the system will now reboot
%SYS-5-RELOAD: Reload requested by Hulc LED Process. Reload Reason: Reload due to Express Setup.
The switch has been running stable since we placed the workaround command on it: no setup express.
Should we just count on the switch to run solid after placing that command on it? Do we need to upgrade the iOS?
Symptom:
A Catalyst switch reloads with the following messages:
%EXPRESS_SETUP-6-CONFIG_IS_RESET: The configuration is reset and the system will now reboot
%SYS-5-RELOAD: Reload requested
The configuration is deleted after reload.
Condition:
This problem has been seen on Catalyst switches running 12.1(14)EA1 or higher (which
provides support for Express Setup.)
Workaround:
In global configuration mode, use no setup express to disable express setup.
