We've seen on NX-OS 5.1(3) that if this bug is not addressed with supervisor reload within weeks of seeing the symptoms, the supervisor will become non responsive and failover to the redundant supervisor. During this type of uncontrolled failover we have had issues with connected switch ports going error disabled and affecting downstream servers.
