We are also seeing this message continuously on Cisco 5760-3.6 release.

Also seeing this continuously on two 5760s:

AIR-CT5760         03.07.00E         ct5760-ipservicesk9

 

Thought maybe to do with multicast IP for the mobility group causing the controller to receive its own packet? Would be great to know if this is a problem or not...

I had got the erro too,the software version is 5760-3.6.02E ,erro log like this:

We've seen this error since we purchased the 5760s a year ago.  On software 3.3.x, 3.6.x, 3.7.x.  Most recently on 3.7.1 and 3.6.3.  Even the tier 2 support wasn't sure if it was one of those innocuous internal bugs you can ignore, or if it means something bad.  It would be good to get an answer.

Symptom:
- Wireless Apple (Mac OS x /IOS) traffic not getting to Internet
- 3702 AP Plugged into 3850--ASA--internet
-http access to IOS clients failing.Chrome works for the IOS devices.

Conditions:
:Switch 1 R0/0: wcm: Mobility packet dropped. packet sent to or received from self.
*Mar 20 13:47:28.300: *%MM-4-PKT_DROPPED:Switch 1 R0/0: wcm: Mobility packet dropped. packet sent to or received from self.[...It occurred 2 times/sec!.]

Workaround:
The problem was solved by configuring a local Windows DNS server. This is an external config change and cannot be correlated to a product issue.
