CSCvk74070 - All FC ports in 5596UP err-disabled after upgrade from 7.1(4)N1(1) to 7.3(3)N1(1)

I was surprised to learn that Cisco stopped supporting FCOE SFP with this new code release. I fail to understand the logic, if this was supported feature when the product was sold to us it needs to be supported with every code release. It is not matter of changing SFP on CIsco we have to look at system hardware changes thats a huge uplift

7.1.5.N1.1b is the last version that still does support using SFP-10G-SR in native FC-port(slot X port Y type fc).

Higher versions of NX-OS such as 7.2.x and 7.3.x are failed to validate SFP-10G-SR in native FC slot. I had to do downgrade and quite unhappy with that.

 

But when the port type is Eth, then there should be no problem to use FCoE with vfc interface binded to it.
