I have 2 Nexus 5500 switches (part of Flexpod), with vpc peer link and keepalives set up.
Problem: Some of our VMs have intermittent communication with the network.
As part of troubleshooting efforts I ran the following 2 commands (using a problematic host MAC) to inspect frame forwarding tables ON EACH SWITCH (4 individual searches) as suggested here: http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/switches/nexus-5000-series-switches/116172-technote-product-00.html
show mac address-table address <mac>
show platform fwm info hw-stm | include <mac>
The output of those 2 commands shows the Port Channel to forward frames on to reach the problematic host. In all 4 outputs I am expecting that the Port Channel ID be the same, much like the output for VMs that present no issues. That is not the case. At least one of the 4 outputs will be different and show the Port Channel ID of the wrong Fabric Interconnect downstream.
What gives?
