Hundreds of attendees collaborated on Open Technologies at Appnovation’s first-ever Accelerate Conference in San Francisco November 18, 2015Cisco Support Community Senior Manager Helena Pechaver Starc and Senior Technical Architect Richard Bennion were both speakers at Accelerate2015.

Richard presented on “Digital Transformation at Cisco:  The Benefits of Moving from Proprietary to Open Technology”.  He overviewed the Cisco Support Community and Cisco on Demand, and how the Community on the Drupal platform has enabled highly successful peer-to-peer support on the Cisco Support Forums.  Powell Room
Rick Bennion, Systems Architect at Cisco, will take us through their decision and process of moving from Jive to Drupal and the development of the Cisco Support Community and Cisco On Demand platforms.

 

Helena spoke on a panel on “How Open Technologies Drive Business Value in High Tech”, along with Andy Parkins, Vice President of Business Technology of 1-800-GOT-JUNK?, and Manish Harsh, Program Manager of Nvidia Developer Programs (the start-up he co-founded, Halosys, an enterprise mobile solutions company, was recently acquired by Sonanta Software). 

 

Appnovation Founder & CEO Arnold Leung (Top 30 Under 30, & EY Entrepreneur of the Year finalist) presented on “Using Open Technologies to Enable Digital Transformation in the Enterprise”, shared the evolution of forming and growing his fast-growing firm, and how Open Technologies enable & drive the success of many agile companies. Other presenters were from Salesforce, PWC, Sutter Health, GitHub, Mulesoft, Acquia, Nvidia, Stanford University, The Linux Foundation, Javelin, Janrain, and the Welsh Government.

 

The Cisco Support Community platform for innovation (on Drupal) is supported by Appnovation’s development team, which enables Cisco’s leverage of Open Technologies for Digital Transformation, including the recently newly  commercially available offer of Cisco on Demand, built on the award-winning Cisco Support Community platform.
