In case you don't know, the Chinese Community is hosted in a different platform than the rest of Cisco Community. We completed the first phase of the migration last December. Now we are happy to announce that we'll complete the second and final phase. 

Benefits:

  1. Chinese speaking community members will enjoy the same optimized UI/UX experience when collaborating in Chinese
  2. There is a single ranking system so if you collaborate both in Cisco Community and Chinese Community, all your content and metrics will be combined.
  3. Cisco branding & consistent customer experience
  4. Responsive web design which means that Chinese Community members will be able to collaborate more easily from their mobile devices
  5. Cisco Community is a very engaged world wide community and bilingual members will be able to leverage content on both languages.
  6. Unified leaderboards and recognition through the communities, potential VIPs from Chinese community and vice versa.

 

What You Can Expect:

  1. The transition will start on  Sunday, April 11 at 11:00 P.M. PT
  2. This is expected to be completed by Monday April 12 at 9:00 PM PT
  3. Cisco community will be in Read-Only while the content Chinese is moving over. This means that login will be disabled and non-public areas of the community such as Partners, Customer Connection, or Success Track will not be accessible.
  4. As usual, in order to avoid spam and filling your inboxes with unnecessary emails, email and web notifications will be turned off across Cisco community while the movement and relabeling of content is in progress. The reason is that when content is updated, an email notification is sent to subscribers (we've learned from previous experiences!). We expect to turn the notifications on by Monday April 12, 9:00 PM PT
  5. The current Chinese Community will be on Read only-mode starting Saturday, April 10 at 8:00 PM PT and will become fully functional in the new platform. We expect this to be finalized by Wednesday April 14 at 7:00 AM PT.
  6. Redirects of the content that is moved are going to be automatically created, so that if you are subscribed to posts, boards, or you've bookmarked content, we expect you will be able to locate it.
