We apologize for all of the notification emails! We executed the badge update mentioned above which unfortunately triggered email notifications. We have caught it and stopped any further emails but apologize for this inconvenience. We truly appreciate all of your contributions to the Community!

Just a bit of feedback: I just did my first post in this community and earned a bunch of badges and received FIVE emails! That is just not cool. You really shouldn't send people emails about their badges by default! It's spam!

Also, the "First question" badge email got sent twice.

@sn0 Thanks for bringing this to our attention.  We're working on it.  My engineer may private message you for more information.

@dbrittin the emails were sent for every new badge assigned!
I got 61 emails about "You earned the XXXXX badge" on 30-09-2024!
I don't mind getting an email each time I get a new badge but that was a bit much all at once.
Too late to stop that now but worth remembering for any similar future change - not to spam out millions of emails to community members.
