Hi Folks,

I have a Dell server host with 6 VM(s); and the VM are virtually connected to a Virtual switch;'

I need to connect The Virtual switch with the VMs to my cisco switch.

ISSUE: how can I get the Dell server which is on subnet 192.168.15.x; to communicate with my cisco switch subnet 192.168.3.1?

How do I configure the virtual switch on the DELL server to connect to my cisco switch? How do I build a vlan on the Dell server, etc?

Thanks....

Anthony

In order for different subnets to talk to each other you will need to enable ip routing (or use a router). You will then have to configure a trunk interface connected to your server virtual switch to carry multiple vlans.

If you're using vmware, this document will help (includes switch config):
