Catalyst Center using 1G port only

We are planning to propose Catalyst Center.
The installation guide states that the Enterprise port must be set, but is it necessary to use a 10G port for communication with the managed device?
Is it possible to monitor using a 1G port only such as the Internet port without using a 10G enterprise port?

We are planing to install DN2-HW-APL or DN3-HW-APL.
They have following interfaces.
-10 Gbps enterprise portx 2
-10 Gbps cluster x 2
-10 Gbps manament port
-1 Gbps RJ45 management port
-10 Gbps internet port
-1 Gbps RJ45 internet port
-1 Gbps RJ45 CIMC port

Enterprise port will only support 10 Gbps -- Insert an SFP and the port will not work plus a loopback plug won't even trigger anything.

Configure the Appliance Using the Maglev Wizard, Step 9 states: 

The wizard first presents the 10-Gbps Enterprise port as NETWORK ADAPTER #1.
