Hi
I have a couple of questions about Cisco SDA and Cisco Catalyst Center (DNA)
I need to change some configurations on my Edge Nodes after I provisioned in the live network
DNA version: 2.3.7
1. change the hosname: I've found some documents that mentioned you have to change it through the DNA via the host onboarding option or inventory, unfortunately, I do not have this option on my DNA version, the only way I have is to change them via CLI and re-sync the device in inventory. I did it for one edge node and it worked fine without any issue but not sure if its safe to do it for 10 more edge nodes or not.
2. changing the interface description on Edge Node or Border Node: again the only option I have is to change them via CLI
3. disabling or enabling the BPDU Guard or any STP config for some interfaces

Catalyst Centre (aka DNAC) is used to centrally push the standard configuration across the board and make it uniform across the network.
If that is not the case, you can edit the template and push to a specific device whatever you like to customize on that template.

Hi Blagi
Thanks for reply
my main question: is it the best practice to change some non-relative SDA config via CLI on the switch itself (like changing the hostname or interface desctiprion) and can I edit the templates on switch via CLI or I have to do it through the DNAC?

Some configuration you do on CLI, which is not part of the DNAC template, as I know DNAC is not going to do anything with that,
But if the template has the same information, it will override when you use it to provision or deploy.
I hope this is what you're looking for.
The use case of DNA is always managed centrally, no more CLI (that defeats the purpose of DNAC or CatC)
