Cisco Catalyst Integration To ServiceNow - Warranty date available?

We are working on the Cisco Catalyst to ServiceNow ìntegration and I have been asked if the Warranty date or Shipment date details can be obtained from this integration to be used in our internal processes.
Can this be obtained from the integration? If not, can we have another method to obtain the details?

Hi @jaap-steen-31

The Cisco Catalyst to ServiceNow integration typically focuses on network device management, incident management, and automation of IT operations. However, specific details like Warranty Date or Shipment Date are not typically included in the standard integration between Cisco Catalyst and ServiceNow. These details are more likely to be part of Cisco's asset or product lifecycle management systems, such as Cisco Smart Net Total Care (SNTC) or Cisco Smart Licensing.

No, the standard Cisco Catalyst to ServiceNow integration does not provide Warranty Date or Shipment Date details. These details are not part of the typical data exchanged in this integration.

Alternative methods to obtain these details:

  1. Cisco Smart Net Total Care (SNTC):

    • Cisco SNTC provides detailed information about your Cisco devices, including warranty and contract details, as well as shipment information.
    • You can integrate Cisco SNTC with ServiceNow using Cisco APIs or connectors to pull warranty and shipment data into ServiceNow.
    • Cisco provides APIs like the Cisco Support APIs (e.g., Serial Number to Info API) that can retrieve warranty and shipment details for devices.
  2. Cisco Serial Number Lookup Tool:

    • Cisco offers a Serial Number Lookup Tool that allows you to manually check warranty and shipment details for specific devices.
    • This is not automated but can be used for one-off checks.
  3. Custom API Integration:

    • You can use Cisco's APIs (e.g., Cisco Support APIs) to programmatically retrieve warranty and shipment details for your devices.
    • These APIs can be integrated with ServiceNow to automate the process of fetching and updating warranty and shipment information.
  4. Third-Party Tools:

    • Some third-party tools specialize in IT asset management and can integrate with both Cisco and ServiceNow to provide warranty and shipment details.

    Hope This Helps!!!
