Hello Community,
i face s small Issue on one of our Locations.
After downsizing this Location, my predecessor, physically removed 2960 Switches out of Stacks.
for example:
Stack 1, containing 3 Switches, only Switch #2 remains activ.
in DNA, Switch 1, Switch 3 is still showing as nonmember
i would like to clean this up, but not sure how to proceed.
I read somewhere that i have to copy the Portconfigs of the active switch on to the two nonmembers and change the switchnumber of Switch2 to switch1, so it becomes the stackmaster and reboot.
is this correct, or what would be the correct way to do that?
with kind Regards

If the parent master and other member removed, if this is only switch working as standalone.
then you need to re-number the switch to 1, so switch understand there is no other members available in the stack and become master and work as expected ( as you noted yes this is required to reboot to take effective)
when this reboot the interface number will be changes 1/x/x rather 2/x/x
also in the configuration of any reference show run | in switch and remove related to switches removed.

Hello Balaji,
so the activ Member ( switch2 ) is already Master.
so i dont have to copy the portconfigurations from example 2/0/1 to 1/0/1 and 3/0/1? Simply re-number switch2 to switch1 and reload?

Can you access to SW 3 and show switch?

yes you need to only re-number, the configuration will be there as master.
as i made note, the interface numbers will be change since switch number is changed.

You do renumber of SW 1/2
Let see how SW3 see these SW
For DNA let postponed this latter
