RMA Workflow Process Issue

We are trying to replace a faulty C9500-24YC switch using the RMA Workflow process.

However, we could not complete the process, the documentation we have is incomplete/has steps missing.

The version of Catalyst Centre we are running is 2.3.7.9.70301.10

Step 1. We added the replacement switch serial number & progress through the steps & deploy.

Task Fails with error... NCRM11015: Replacement device is not yet on-boarded. Please on-board the device and restart the replacement process.

In all the documentation we have found, the replacement switch is listed in the inventory, with no details of how to do this.

Step 2. We went into the plug and play feature, add the switch & then claim it.

However, at this stage, even as the Onboarding Progress = Device Claimed, the Device Status = Unclaimed.

We think we need to use a template at this stage, but cannot find any guidance re the creation/content of this template.

Step 3. We tried the Replacement Device feature again; the replacement switch was not listed in the Inventory.

So, we attempted to add it again & get Error NCOB01019: Duplicate number when creating device.

Can anyone provide some detail/guidance to create a template that we need to use with plug and play, so we can add the new switch into the inventory & complete the process for it to replace the faulty switch?

The "Duplicate number" error (NCOB01019) occurs because your previous attempt at Step 2 partially registered the serial number in the PnP database, even though it isn't in the main Inventory.

Any device in an unclaimed or error state should be deleted.

Normally, the following steps should work :

Is this device part of Fabric? If not, check the bug below:
